NEW YORK STATE -- Three New York State school districts were honored for innovative teaching programs that introduce students to math, science and technology.
The UAlbany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering awarded the winning schools $5,000 as part of the "Be the Change for Kids Innovation" awards.
The winning schools included: Berne Knox Westerlo Central School District in Albany County, New Lebanon Central School District in Columbia County and Roundout Valley Central School District in Ulster County.
“Schools today need to prepare students for work that could involve clean rooms, semiconductors, wireless technology. The three school districts we are honoring today are meeting that challenge of educating students for a 21st century workforce,” said NYSSBA Executive Director Timothy Kremer.
