Glen Merfeld Platform Leader, Energy Storage Technologies GE Global Research
Glen is the Platform Leader for Energy Storage Technologies with a focus on all forms of industrial scale energy storage. In this capacity, Glen is responsible for strategic development of subject related programs across GE Global Research as well as for integration with GE Business efforts related to Transportation, Stationary Power Quality, Smart Grid, Renewables, Energy Transmission & Distribution, Aviation, and Digital Energy as well as with GE Capital Investments. Glen's activities are also closely tied with GE's new Energy Storage business including the support of sodium metal halide battery developments and their translation to commercialization.
Glen joined GE Global Research in 1998 after earning a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
