Dr. Chad Abbey holds Master's and Ph.D. degrees from McGill University. He has more than 7 years of experience in distributed energy resources and smart distribution systems technologies. He is the author or co-author of more than 50 papers, has given dozens of talks, many times as an invited speaker, and numerous industry courses on subjects related to the integration of distributed energy resources and advanced distribution systems. He has been closely involved in laboratory testing at the IREQ distribution test system, the Hydro-Quebec Distribution Smart Zone, as well as activities related to technology transfer and industry workshops. He has a strong involvement in international working groups and standardization efforts, most notably the CIGRE C6 Study Committee and the IEEE 1547.x series of applications guides.
