Dr. Unni Pillai is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. He received his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Masters degree in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science (UK) and PhD in Economics from University of Minnesota (USA). His research focuses on the economic drivers of technological change in high-tech industries. His current work focuses on the semiconductor industry and the renewable energy industry. His work includes theoretical modeling, econometric estimation of model parameters, and use of estimated models to quantitatively answer empirical questions.
