March 1, 2012 The College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering and its partners present the Northeast Photovoltaic Roundtable
Overview The Northeast U.S. is home to innovative companies developing products for the photovoltaic (PV) industry, active companies installing PV systems and engineering integrated PV solutions for new construction, and leading organizations promoting the technology and developing critical standards and infrastructure for the industry.
To assist in raising awareness of the role of PV in the northeastern U.S. and to obtain views and insights of key stakeholders, the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering (CNSE), the New York Energy Society, the Business Council of NYS, the U.S. Photovoltaic Manufacturing Consortium, and New Energy New York and its partners hosted the Northeast Photovoltaic Roundtable on March 1, 2012 at CNSE's Albany Nanotech Complex.
The invitation-only, facilitated, open and interactive roundtable discussion with several keynote talks focused on developing a pathway to widespread commercialization and implementation for solar energy in New York and other northeastern states. Participants also identified key policy suggestions that will stimulate economic development by embracing supply and demand of solar technology. Case studies of successes and failures in Europe (Germany, Spain), California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania were also analyzed.
