Joseph Michels Managing Director One Equity Partners
Dr. Michels is a Managing Director at One Equity Partners, the private equity investing arm of JP Morgan Chase. Prior to joining OEP in 2007, he was the director for research initiatives and lecturer at Princeton University. Before Princeton he worked as a science advisor to Senator Richard Lugar and as a Congressional science fellow for Senator Joseph Lieberman.
He serves as president of the Society for Energy and Environmental Research, a not-for-profit corporation promoting renewable energy, is on the scientific advisory board of Applied Semiconductor, Inc., and is a director of the National Rowing Foundation and Steward of Henley Royal Regatta. He previously served as a director for the Polaroid Corporation.
Dr. Michels received a B.A. in physics and English with honors from LaSalle University and a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from Oxford University where he was named to a Glasstone Research Fellowship.
