Mr. Allen S. Goodman is President of ECG Consulting Group Inc. and has extensive experience working with U.S. and international clients providing them with strategic market planning, technology commercialization and business strategy & development services to help accelerate the growth and development of their businesses. Mr. Goodman’s clients range from Fortune 100 clients to emerging technology growth companies in the energy, information technology, advanced materials, industrial and life sciences industries. He has held senior management and consulting positions at ECG, Simon & Schuster and Booz Allen & Hamilton.
Mr. Goodman’s clients at ECG include power system OEMs, utilities, energy service providers, electronics manufacturers, communications firms, environmental products & services providers, information technology organizations and technology developers. He has worked with clients in a wide variety of business sectors including power systems and services, transmission & distribution, energy storage, monitoring & diagnostics systems, medical instrumentation, advanced technology components, engineered materials, engineering services, environmental systems, communications and information technology products and services. Prior to joining ECG, Mr. Goodman was Vice President - Analysis & Planning at Simon & Schuster. Mr. Goodman worked with the Chairman, President & Chief Operating Officer and Group Presidents to restructure the infrastructure of this $2 billion information technology firm. Under his direction, he led major projects that streamlined administration, logistics/distribution, customer service and the material purchasing organizations, which resulted in operating cost savings of more than $100 million. At Booz Allen & Hamilton, Mr. Goodman specialized in strategic market planning and operations restructuring for U.S., Canadian, Japanese, U.K. and French firms in the information technology and telecommunications industries. He worked with more than 25 Fortune 1000 clients and developed Booz Allen’s U.S. Information Industry Practice strategic plan. While attending The Wharton School, Mr. Goodman was awarded a Management Consulting Fellowship. Under this Fellowship, he developed and implemented financial and marketing strategies for more than 25 new ventures and firms in the information technology, consumer products, health care and fitness industries.
Mr. Goodman has an A.B. degree, with honors, from Harvard University and an M.B.A. degree from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Goodman currently serves as a Regional Director and Member of the Clubs and Communications Committees of the Harvard Alumni Board of Directors and is a Board Member and past President of the Harvard University Club of Eastern New York. He is Co-Chair of Harvard’s 2006 and 2007 Alumni Leadership Conferences. He is also active in a variety of community organizations.
