John Siciliani has been working in the solar and renewable energy industries for over 17 years. He first began his career working on behalf of the national industry in 1992 at the Solar Energy Industries Association in Washington (SEIA), DC. During his 6 years at SEIA, John worked on several domestic market transformation projects and international export initiatives for both the solar electric and solar thermal industries. Beginning in 1997, John began his work in the private sector working for various companies involved in each sector of the industry from manufacturing at Atlantis Energy Systems to system integration and installation at Solar Works, Inc. among others. John first began his affiliation with NYSEIA in 1997 as a Board member and is a former President of the association. In March of this year, while serving on the NYSEIA Board, John decided to return to working on behalf of the industry as Executive Director of NYSEIA. John is committed to the idea that the solar energy industry must work on a focused and collective effort to bring all solar energy technologies into the mainstream of our every day lives and that it is imperative that we do so for multiple economic, environmental and national security reasons. He also happens to believe that with the highest value solar energy in the country and with the most visible city in the world, New York stands poised to lead the way. NYSEIA is the trade organization of the New York solar Energy industry representing over 180 members involved in the design, manufacture, engineering, financing and deployment of solar thermal and solar electric technologies. John has a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of Montana.
