Nick Santhanam is a Partner in McKinsey & Company's Palo Alto Office, where he serves high tech and clean tech as well as private equity clients in the areas of operations improvement, cost optimization and strategy.  His recent experiences include:

  • Solar services market entry strategy for a large player
  • Optimizing procurement and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of PV products and services for a large down stream PV player
  • Supply chain optimization for high-tech/semi conductor companies
  • SG&A lean-out in tier 1 high-tech and industrial companies
  • JV/M&A alliance on new products support for large high-tech companies
  • Value pricing and transactional pricing improvements for "tier 1" semiconductor and electronic component companies
  • Global manufacturing footprint optimization for $10 bn+ high tech companies
  • Maintenance spend optimization for "tier 1" semiconductor players

Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr. Santhanam worked as a Technical Manager at Taconic (a PCB/ceramics manufacturer), Petersburgh, NY.  Prior to Taconic, he worked as a manufacturing engineer at Arlon (also a PCB/ceramics manufacturer) in their Bear, DE facility.

Mr. Santhanam has a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Illinois and an M.B.A. in Strategic management and Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He graduated as a Ford and Palmer scholar from Wharton.
