Ben Luce is a professor of physics at Lyndon State College and a renewable energy specialist with the Vermont Energy Education Program.

Prior to this, Dr. Luce was employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1993-2005, where he conducted research in nonlinear physics, served as the Laboratory's renewable energy program manager, and conducted research in alternative fuels. He also served as the president of the New Mexico Solar Energy Association from 1999-2005, and as co-chair and then director of the New Mexico Coalition for Clean Affordable Energy, where he was instrumental in the passage of the New Mexico Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard and other rules and laws including the New Mexico solar tax credit, expanded solar rights, and a renewable energy credits program for photovoltaic systems.
