MTI MicroFuel Cells

Dr. Robert Miller, who joined MTI Micro in December 2005, brings valuable prior experience at two start-up advanced technology companies and at a HP start-up division (later to become the head of the ink-jet business sector of HP) and HP Laboratories.  He has 18 years of management experience in microfluidics and microreactor design and three years of experience in computational modeling of materials and microfluidic components.  He is the primary author of 20+ patents and the co-founder of three companies, directing efforts that prototyped and demonstrated sensor networks, a MEMS-based sensor system and a new Internet collaboration tool.  At HP, Dr. Miller led a materials effort and secured IP positions that resulted in the successful launching of the first microfluidics device.  He established successful collaborations with many research institutions, including  Cal Tech, Stanford, MIT and UC at Berkeley.  He also developed novel switching materials and developed the fundamental physiochemical properties of ink-jet printing technology.  Dr. Miller has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Physics from the University of Washington and a doctorate in Materials Physics from Oregon State University.
