Andrew Gathy is the Intellectual Property Counsel responsible for leading UTC Power’s Intellectual Property group in the Legal Department.
 
Since joining UTC Power in 2005, Andrew has held positions of increasing responsibility in the legal department. His practice includes the management and development of all aspects of the corporation’s intellectual property portfolio. Prior to joining UTC Power, he practiced law in private intellectual property boutiques representing a wide variety of clients including start-up technology entities and large established corporate entities with a broad technology spectrum, in emerging energy markets as well as established high technology fields.
 
Andrew holds both a J.D. and LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Franklin Pierce Law Center, and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
 
Andrew has been a guest lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, Babson College and Western New England School of Law teaching the use of Intellectual Property as a business tool.
