Program Outline
  • Pre-year 1 (June-Aug)
    • Students accepted to the Program may spend ~8 weeks at CNSE participating in research, rotating through labs, and identifying potential projects and mentors
  • Year 1 (Aug-May)
    • Location: Medical Center
      • M1 core curriculum
  • Summer (June-Aug)
    • Location: CNSE
      • Orientation, ~ 8 week selection process for PhD mentorship, identification of research projects and mentors, optional coursework, and special programs
      • USMLE Step 1
  • Year 2 (Aug-May)
    • Location: Medical Center
      • M2 core curriculum
      • USMLE Step 1
  • Years 3-5 (June - completion of Ph.D.)
    • Location: CNSE
      • PhD (46 total credits, 24 of which transfer from medical school core curriculum)
        • CNSE coursework as advised
        • Original research, qualifiers, and thesis project defense
  •  Year 6-7 (Completion of M.D. - graduation in May)
    • M3 clinical rotations
    • USMLE Step 2 CK & CS
    • M4 clinical rotations
    • ERAS/NRMP (Residency "Match")
