ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A $20 million partnership between Ceres Technology and the SUNY College of Nanoscience and Engineering is unveiled.
Lieutenant Governor Bob Duffy joined officials to announce that the Ulster County company will create high-tech manufacturing machines for the nanoscience center in Albany.
Duffy said he hopes it will provide more opportunities for solar energy and reducing energy costs. He said it's a partnership that will create 250 jobs over the next five years.
"It's just one more example that manufacturing is not dead in New York," Duffy said. "Manufacturing is alive and well, and it's alive and well here in upstate, and the kind of manufacturing that we're talking about is the type that is the envy from around the world. It is high-tech. It is futuristic."
Duffy said this is a product of Governor Cuomo's work creating economic councils to try and elevate our technology and assets.
