The Capital Region is becoming a center for nanotechnology with the
Globalfoundries plant and the College of Nanoscale Science and

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Streetlights that light up as you drive under them.
Sounds like science fiction, but it's just one part of the College of
Nanoscale Science and Engineering's vision for the City of Albany.

develop technology to make Albany a smart city.
The other
partnership is with Trinity Alliance to develop that education
component. They are also looking to change the school curriculum all to
help local students be prepared for a science and engineering job.
"This

and the education piece that focuses on social groups. So I don't know
if any other city is doing the program this way," said Dr. Alain
Kaloyeros, CSNE CEO.
