Position Title: G450C Process and Equipment Technician
Employment is with the Research Foundation for SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.

The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE, http://cnse.albany.edu/) is seeking applicants for the position of Process Engineering and Equipment Technician to work in its semiconductor development facilities. This position is responsible for equipment, operations, and process technical support for a team of 450mm process and equipment engineers.

Description of Duties:

The Global 450 Consortium Process and Equipment Technician duties will include, but not be limited to: hands-on operation of process and support equipment, updating operating procedures and specifications, internal customer applications support, and contribution to new equipment evaluation and qualification. The successful applicant must be able to interface effectively with fab operations, process maintenance, and semiconductor engineering professionals from client companies.
The Engineering Technician will execute tasks in support of process and equipment engineering development in a wide range of technology development projects; working alongside a diverse group of process and equipment engineers working to develop and evaluate semiconductor equipment in the 450mm semiconductor pilot line facilities. Duties assigned will include, but not be limited to: Track the progress of technology development silicon through the development line environment. Interface with Work Station Operators (WSO’s) to ensure the proper execution of experiments in photolithography, etch, wet cleans, CVD, PVD, CMP, metrology and others. The Engineering Technician will be involved in lot metrology, inspection, and data review which will be reported daily to the G450C Engineering teams. Must exhibit self-discipline and be able to work under minimal supervision. The Engineering Technician will react to lots on hold and make proper disposition decisions in order to balance processing speed with quality. Must be accountable for individual results and for the impact of the results on the team. Accuracy, quality and productivity are all required. Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree in an engineering or science related discipline from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization OR equivalent experience which includes at least 2 years of semiconductor industry or research and development experience.
Candidate must have a working knowledge in one or more process tools or modules required to build advanced CMOS devices; must also demonstrate proficiency in computers and IT infrastructure including manufacturing execution system applications, project planning, and forward thinking for contributing to process solutions for test wafer flows and equipment evaluation; excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must be willing to execute a variety of tasks on short notice. Knowledge of MS Office, and semiconductor equipment operation are strongly recommended. Must be willing to work either evening or day shifts. Candidates must be able to address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science related discipline

This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may be subject to annual background investigations.
