SiView Administrator

Employment is with the Research Foundation for SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.
Description of Duties:
The general duties of the SiView administrator are to support the G450 Consortium. As such, they will include, primary responsibility for managing the implementation and usage of the SiView Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the 450mm production line. It is the role of the SiView administrator to implement the base SiView system functionality, define and enforce usage restrictions for the user community in conjunction with the engineering teams, maintain data security and integrity within the system.
The SiView administrator will work with the SiView and Engineering Teams in defining and supporting controls, documentation, and training. The ideal candidate will also be expected to apply creativity and judgment to professional, technical, or operational problems, independently generate innovative solutions based on analytical skills and business knowledge, and challenge the validity of given procedures and processes to enhance and improve or develop complementary adjustments/solutions. Other reasonable duties as assigned. As such, the position supports CNSE’s private corporate partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Dept. of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting organization AND at least 3 years of MES or factory automation experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applicants must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population.
Specific Requirements:
- UNIX experience is required;
- Must be comfortable working in a command line/terminal window
- Must have at least a basic understanding of distributed computing architectures
- Must be able to read and understand a system architecture diagram
- Basic Shell scripting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AIX and Korn shell is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Logistics Management
- Basic knowledge of Semiconductor Manufacturing Processes
- Basic knowledge of Business Controls Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Project Management
- Basic knowledge of Java
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a
background investigation; this position may be subject to annual
background investigations.
